General

As we are a teaching practice we provide further training for doctors who have already worked in hospital but wish to have a career in general practice.  In addition we train Foundation Doctors with some hospital experience and provide placements for medical students from the University of Manchester and Royal Preston Hospital.  These doctors and students may from time to time sit in with our regular doctors on a consultation.  You will be given the option of asking them to leave the room at your request.

The practice and supervising gps are appraised and assessed at regular intervals by NHS England education authorities and CQC in order to continue providing this valuable service to the NHS.  You may be offered an appointment with a GP Registrar or Foundation Doctor.  These doctors are capable of working independently and are closely supervised and mentored.  They have feedback and assessment on their performance and are regularly released to attend educational events.
